The shifting precision of the Chorus 11-speed rear derailleur from Campagnolo is at the same high level as that of its big brothers Record and Super Record. The approach to the design and the geometry of the shifting components are completely identical. The differences lie in the materials used, which allow a lower price without reducing performance. Of course, a groupset designed for competition like the Chorus 11 cannot do without showing its true sporting spirit, as evidenced by the use of carbon for the front parallelogram plate, among other things.

The HO version ("Hydraulic Optimized") of the Chorus rear derailleur has been specially optimized for frames with disc brakes and a rear installation width of 142 mm. The shape of the rear derailleur arm has also been revised to ensure smooth installation and removal of thru axle or rear wheel. The extension of the teeth of the upper derailleur pulley ensures more precise shifting, even with a strongly angled chain line.

Features of the Campagnolo Chorus HO rear derailleur

• Sophisticated design. The shape of the external components allows the rear derailleur to move at an adjusted angle. At the same time, the revised internal design enables a more direct connection between the cassette and chain, which improves traction and therefore also energy transmission. In addition, the durability of all components subject to wear is increased.
• Monolithic rear derailleur body. The monolithic construction of the upper and lower rear derailleur body made of a technopolymer mixed with carbon powder significantly reduces the weight without compromising durability against impacts, regardless of the weather conditions.
• Parallelogram plate made of carbon fiber. The front parallelogram plate connects the upper and lower derailleur bodies and increases torsional rigidity by 150 % compared to a conventional derailleur.
• Rear derailleur mounting bolt made of aluminum. The two-piece system achieves a weight reduction of 53 % compared to steel and 22 % compared to titanium, while maintaining the same resistance and rigidity. The result is a significantly longer service life.

Embrace Technology™ | The special cogwheel inside the rear derailleur body, which acts on a spring with a rectangular cross-section, allows the component to move along a path that precisely follows the shape of the sprockets (applies to cassettes with 11-23 and 11-29 teeth).

Ultra-Shift™ System | Thanks to this patented system, the chain can be moved simultaneously by three sprockets when shifting down and by up to five sprockets when shifting up. The design of the levers also offers a smoother shifting action, which is characterized by the typical Campagnolo "click".

Compatibility note: To ensure the best possible functionality of the mechanical Super Record, Record and Chorus drivetrains, Campagnolo recommends not using components from earlier dates for groupsets from 2015 onwards. A marking on the corresponding products, a framed letter, serves to identify current shifting components. The letter of the components that interact directly during the shifting process (Ergopower right + rear derailleur or Ergopower left + front derailleur + crank + bottom bracket) should match.
